10 Best Squarespace Benefits (why I keep using them)
I’ve been using Squarespace since around 2021. I’ve grown three separate personal sites and helped others do the same. So, is Squarespace worth it? I think so — for a few key reasons.
This is a list of my favorite Squarespace benefits. It’s why I keep coming back and building with them.
Now let’s do this!
1. Simplicity
Squarespace is super easy to use. This is actually one of the biggest reasons I decided to use them over another CMS (content management system) platform.
There aren’t any plugins, coding or third-party integrations you need to use (unless you want to). You also don’t need to worry about monthly updates or site backups.
You pay one monthly fee and that’s it (not including your yearly domain purchase and Google Workspace email if you have one). So the only thing you need to focus on is your design, content and brand growth.
Once you learn your way around the tools, you’ll realize how easy it is to grow your site.
And when you’re ready for more complex tweaks, there are tons of advanced customization options too.
2. Plenty of Customizations
If you want to turn up the proverbial heat, you can. Squarespace has tons of simple customizations baked right into the platform. But you can also add third-party plugins or custom codes too, allowing you to do virtually whatever you want.
Here are some ways you can customize your Squarespace site:
Editing images
Add custom code
Customize your fonts
Native elements library
Password-protected pages
Adding promotional pop-ups
Enabling an announcement bar
Third-party tools like Spark Plugin
Change or customize your color palettes
These are all exciting — but they really only scratch the surface. And the Squarespace community is continually growing. There are so many amazing creators and resources to learn these advanced moves from.

3. A Kick-Ass Community
My domain is SEO and blogging, design and creativity. But outside of these things, I sometimes need a hand. Luckily, Squarespace has a kick-ass community of creators to help.
Learning deeper Squarespace design moves, adding custom codes, using plugins — a lot of this stuff I learned from other creators.
There are so many free resources and tutorials online answering most questions I’ve had so far.
Here are a few creators to know:
Inside the Square (great for custom coding)
Beatriz Caraballo (another great place for custom CSS and design resources)
Big Cat Creative (a great resource for design tips, customizations and premium templates)
Paige Brunton (another great place for Squarespace design, business and content tips)
And if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, Squarespace’s community forums and customer service have always done the trick.
4. Primo Customer Support
I’ve only reached out to Squarespace customer support a handful of times (maybe three total), but each time was amazing.
The communication was quick, smooth and genuinely helpful.
No bots, automated emails or generic “try this resource” responses (unless they’re actually helpful guides).
So if you can’t find the answer you seek in the existing resources online, rest assured your customer support experience should be pain-free.
The biggest downside is it’s not very intuitive to actually get to the right page for sending an email to customer service. They’re really hoping you find your answer in a guide first.
5. Powerful SEO
Coming from WordPress, I was admittedly skeptical at first. But after growing three different sites, I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.
Squarespace SEO is a powerhouse.
Because here’s the truth: good SEO is more about content strategy and less about platform use.
So if you’re wondering about Squarespace’s SEO performance, I can tell you with confidence that it’s good. I’ve grown three separate blogs using only Squarespace.

6. It’s Great for Blogging
One of the best ways to grow your Squarespace site is by starting a blog. Luckily, Squarespace is great for blogging.
If your template doesn’t have a blog, you can easily add one. Just open up Pages under Website, click on + next to Main Navigation and choose Blog.
Growing a blog takes time, but there’s a formula to follow (it’s also a bit of an art). But this is something I love talking about. So here are some quick tips for successful blogging with Squarespace:
Create a clear content strategy
Do good keyword research
Build topical authority
Be consistent
Stay patient

7. Secure / Trustworthy
Security starts with SSL certification (the lock icon you see in your browser). But I also like to include privacy elements such as a cookies policy opt-in.
When you build a site with Squarespace, SSL certification is automatic when you push your site live (it can take a couple days to show up) and adding a cookies policy is a simple feature to toggle on.
Just click on the ⚙️ icon, click on Cookies and Data Privacy and then toggle on the Cookie Banner option. Scroll down to customize the banner.
As for trust, this means having a good reputation and solid experience. Squarespace (again) checks the boxes.
They’ve been in business since 2003 and have over two decades of experience under their belt.
They handle millions of websites and I’ve never had one issue with my website hosting or performance.
So, I trust them. They do good by me!
7. Sweet Monetization Tools
You probably want to start making some money with your website. So when you’re ready to pull those levers, Squarespace has some pretty solid features.
For example, you can do all of this directly in-platform:
Create and sell original courses
Add a paywall to your content
Create a membership area
Sell merch or products
Sell your services
Squarespace has a lot of options for turning your passions, skills and brand into money. And I love being able to do everything in all in place without any extra subscriptions.
Plus, there are plenty more ways to monetize your brand beyond these native tools, such as ad placements, affiliate marketing and sponsored posts or brand partnerships.
8. The Aesthetics are 😙🤌
With Squarespace, the aesthetics are on point. It’s a platform that’s definitely built with creatives in mind.
Their premade templates are all sleek and their website builder makes it easy to craft a beautiful vibey design (even if you have no web design experience).
The paintbrush icon in the upper righthand corner is where you can customize most of your template and element design rules. For example:
Color palettes
Font styling
Formatting
Animations
Buttons
and lots more…
Designing your Squarespace site is a fun and creative process. The tools are intuitive and easy to learn and you can customize anything you want (with simple tweaks or more advanced CSS work).
But even if you’re using your template straight out of “the box”, you’ll be set up pretty good. A couple tweaks (for your branding style) is all you’ll need to do.

Some noteworthy Squarespace features include:

24/7 support
SSL certification
Data and analytics
Inventory management
Purchase and manage domains
Easily connect with Google Search Console
Calendar syncing and scheduling tools
Image management and editing
Membership pages and areas
Apply custom CSS / code

10. The Built-In CDN
A CDN (content delivery network) makes sure your content is delivered most efficiently, securely and at the highest speed possible based on your visitor’s location.
This creates a better user experience (UX), faster load times and improves SEO (since site speed and UX are both important ranking factors).
You don’t need to do anything to connect with Squarespace’s CDN — it’s automatic. That means you can focus on what’s most important — your content and growing your brand.
